Scared to Homeschool? Crush Your Biggest Homeschooling Fears in 7 Simple Steps
A 7-Day Scripture Study for Homeschool Moms
When Fear Rises in Homeschooling
There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear. ~1 John 4:18
Fear never announces itself. It shows up subtilty, kind of like that old enemy of
God. It causes us to doubt our ability, the future, and God’s faithfulness. Fear
clouds our thinking, can diminish our confidence, and causes us to take our eyes
off the Lord. When we fear, we are not trusting God. It’s as simple as that. All
throughout scripture we are clearly called, even commanded, to trust Him. That means in everything even if we are scared to homeschool.

Fear can be crippling. It can stop us from moving forward in anything, even
homeschooling. It stopped the Isrealite army from fighting Goliath the giant. All
the soldiers were terrified. Then a young man showed up who wasn’t fearful, but
instead trusted God. Did David know he would kill Goliath that day? No, he
didn’t, but he was trusting God no matter the outcome.
How to Move Forward
When we realize that the road ahead will always have its difficulties, will always
hold some uncertainties, and will not be perfect, but God will be right there with
us guiding us and correcting us, we can move forward in faith.
Isaiah 41:10 says:
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will
strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my
righteousness.”
As homeschool parents we may have fears about our child’s future, we may fear
making wrong decisions, and we often worry that we aren’t smart enough to
teach our children at home. Peace of mind is not going to come with perfectly
laid out plans or the perfect curriculum, it comes when we turn our eyes toward
the Lord, and trust him with our tomorrows.
Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.
